Free Will
(1/19/10)

And then, there’s “free will.”

1. If you believe in free will, you believe in magic. There’s no way around it.
2. If a person were not responsible for who (or what) he was, he would not be responsible for what he did.
3. If he were not responsible for what he did, he would not be responsible for what he became as a result of what he did.
4. If he were not responsible for what he became as a result of what he had done, he would not be responsible for what he did next as a result of what he had become…
5. Etc., etc., etc.
6. What that means is that if a person is not responsible for what he was when conceived, he can never be responsible for what he does.
7. Case closed.
8. If you believe in free will, you believe in magic and have little reason for not believing in G-d.
