Lauren,

I’ve come to believe, or suspect at least, that living with your parents played a big part in allowing you to run around without a “shell” and to be so attractive to me. With that security, the signals you gave me were “You” and transcendentally beautiful. Your parents provided a sense of security that I, or any other husband, cannot provide. That’s where a really strong religion comes in.

Consequently, currently, you have great difficulty shedding your shell.
To get that security back, you need someone magical, eternal, taking care of you. You need to believe in a full way that nothing real can be threatened.

magical to replace that sense of securitya deep-seated belief in G-d and His aim to take full care of you – that nothing real can be threatened
