4.1.2.1. Questionable Prerequisite Beliefs
(2/27/09)

Questionable beliefs we need to hold first, before we can "believe in" Jesus.

1. There really is such a thing as G-d. (Chapter 4.1.2.1.1.)
2. The supernatural, and in particular prophecy, is real. (Link)
3. The Old Testament (OT, Hebrew Bible, Tanakh) is prophetic. (Link)
4. The OT predicts a Messiah (not just a Messianic age). (Link)
5. G-d would “come to us” in the flesh. (Link)
6. Jesus is G-d. (Link)
7. He is also the son of G-d. (Link)
8. We all are born “sinners.” (Link)
9. There is such a thing as Heaven. (Link)
10. The only way to Heaven is through “believing in” Jesus. (Link)
11. By believing in Jesus, he pays for our sins. (Link)
12. There is such a thing as Hell. (Link)
13. Those of us who do not believe in Jesus will go to Hell. (Link)

Pretty discouraging, huh? Sounds pretty scarey, but also hard to believe.
